"Metrix Fit" is Great for Shorter Inseams
The biggest benefit and selling point of these pants is the "Metrix Fit". What IZOD has done is make the rise of the pant (distance between the waist and crotch) in proportion to the inseam length. Short inseam = short rise, long inseam = long rise.

These are perfect for guys with shorter inseams who normally have the problem when they buy other pants that the rise is too long, the pants are baggy and the back/bottom of the leg hits the ground and wears out. You may be tempted to go with a shorter inseam so they don't hit the ground, but you will probably still have baggy pants. I have a 31" inseam (that is rarely available) and 32" Dockers used to have the best fit since their inseam is slightly shorter than others, but the back of the leg sometimes still hits the ground. IZOD's Metrix Fit with a 30" inseam fit great. The legs are just at the right length (barely - I wish they made 31" inseams), don't hit the ground, and most importantly - they are not baggy at the crotch. Great fit, great quality, great pants!

Good pants
The pants seem to be good quality, but I've only had them 1 month. They fit well and were as described. I would recommend.

Great dress/work pants-Great combo in a pair of pants!
I work in a very suit and tie, corporate office setting, but I also find myself doing strenuous, sometimes dirty, projects for this position. These pants are very durable, and look very dressy at the same time.

Russell Pants

Great for Kung Fu
I wear these pants 4 times a week to Kung Fu class. I give them quite a workout, and they still look and feel new. They are comfortable and just the right thickness for my liking. They are loose enough for me to have full movements and yet tight enough to not get in my way when twisting or jumping.

Size advice

While much of the negative commentary concerned Levi Strauss's move away from domestic manufacturing has focused on the button-fly 501s, the bigger problem I have seen is with the old 1970's standby, the 505, which has a zipper as opposed to button fly. The variability on sizing and sew quality with the 505s is an issue if you are going to buy them online or mail order. You really have to try them on to see how they fit. The 501 are much easier to buy online or by mail order because the sizing is much less critical on the waist, which is the so-called "anti-fit" waist, meaning there is no curve to the rise (the distance between the crotch and the top of the waist), because the original 501s were merely cut down bib overalls which were made to hang, rather than be fitted to the waist. The biggest problem I have noted on the 505's is the variability in size in the thigh area, meaning that some fit baggy and some seem rather tight, even though they are theoretically the same size of a label. Since the 501s are more forgiving as far as sizing, if you are buying online you might consider them instead of 505s, unless you don't want the button fly.

levi's inconsistent standard
this is the second pair of levis i ordered through amazon. it was identical to the first pair except the first was made in lesotho the second in egypt. both were 36x29, but the second, the one under review here, the one of egyptian manufacture, was somewhat tighter, really almost too tight, and the button hole was too small, had to be forced. clearly levi strauss no longer has the standard for which they were famous, and here as in so much else caveat emptor (latin for 'buyer beware').

free alterations
They were a little slow getting the order out, but I think that was caused by a delay from Levi's. They definitely went the extra mile and altered the jeans to my husbands length at no charge. Customer service was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely order from them again.

Lightweight Athletic pants
These pants are a lightweight cotton jersey. They feature straight hemmed legs - no elastic around the ankles. The sizing is generous, as are the pockets. The waistline is elastic and also has a hidden drawstring inside the waistband. I got them to use a part of a costume but they would be an excellent summer lounge pant or work-out pant.

Love my Dockers cargo pants
I have purchased about ten pairs of these pants, most for me but a few for my kids. They fit well, look sharp, are comfortable and feel great. I will look for more colors and if I see some that I don't have I'll be getting more.

Strange name, but fits where it's supposed to.
Don't know about "iconic" but the relaxed fit of these cover my 5'10", 185 lb. frame in 36x32 very well. I especially like the deeper side pockets that extend just below the bottom of the flaps on the cargo's. And I'm a button guy, and all the buttonholes on these were large enough to clear the button nicely. I realize it's possible that not all will be like this depending on what location on earth they're made. This style leans toward "young adult" but at 66, I'm young enough. The rounded flap edges add a more refined touch too. The twill is a nice weight, not too heavy, and looks to be very durable as long as the stitching keeps it behaving. The color called "Cornstalk" is my favorite. Wish they could have designed the same appearance into the other colors as well. Very pleased with the overall appearance and the extra pockets.

Dockers Rule
I love cargo style trousers, particularly Dockers. I had no problems ordering & receiving exactly what I wanted, except that the selection of colors was limited.

The Classic And Still The Best!
Levi's 501 jeans are still the best in the world after all these years. The button fly is at times a bit inconvenient, but the fit of these jeans is worth it - there has never been a pair of jeans that fit a guy better than these. They are comfortable, yet not baggy, and are decidedly classic, without being stodgy.

In short, Levi's 501 jeans still set the bar for blue jeans, and to date nothing else comes close.

Original and best

These are still made from the original indigo-dyed rigid denim manufactured Cone mills in North Carolina, and are of good quality. The trick with these is to buy a bigger size then you ordinarily would, as they shrink considerably. Especially if you want to be able to roll up the cuffs, you need to buy either 2 or 4 inches longer in the inseam, i.e. if you normally wear a 32, by a thirty-four or 36, because it will shrink almost 3 inches after a couple of washes. If you want to wear them over boots, definitely go up 4 inches. I have found that the waist shrinks about an inch and half, so if you normally buy a 36, buy 38. The other thing is that if you want to avoid whitish streaking down the leg, turn them inside out when you wash them. To avoid spotting from the starch used in new shrink-to-fit fabric, wash then in hot water the first few time. Basically they will shrink through the first three washes and and pretty much stay where they are. After that, when you get them to the color you want, wash them as infrequently as possible and they will get a nice natural fading, which will look much better than any of the "hand finished" jeans they charge so much for nowadays. It will always look better if you do it yourself through natural wear.

Product good, but...
Pants are good, as expected from Levis, but the very annoying problem here is the distributor: Bealls Florida.
Their "customer support" is a total shame, they insulted me in my second order because I complained about their shipping method. I deleted 114 items from my wishlist that were from Bealls Florida and will never purchase again from them. Item 5 stars, Bealls Florida -5 stars.

When function is the highest factor
I'm a fairly simple shopper when it comes to clothes. I buy most of my pants from Sears, and those are always Levi 550s. They are, quite simply, the most appealing jeans I've worn, and I've been wearing them exclusively for about 5 years now. They don't tear that easily and they hold up for a long time if you take care of them and wash them on a regular basis. While it is true that some other brands, such as Lee, have somewhat softer material, I've always returned to these workhorses. I prefer black usually, which has the normal problem of fading to gray after a time, but they stay black for a respectably long time. Perfect for everyday situations. I really don't see a reason to wear any other jeans!

Typical Levis
Overall, I've been getting more and more disgusted when I purchase jeans. I mean, I'm not a teenager so I am simply not interested in torn up, faded jeans that cost as much as a car payment. I also have seen the trend towards really thin fabrics, like jeans are just for looks, and durability is no longer something that is high on the list of desirable qualities. The Levis brand is one that I feel like I can always come back to and have a decent sense of what I'll get. I will say that the fabrics have gotten thinner over the years, but are still generally thicker and better manufactured than the other jeans I have tried. I have ordered two pairs of the 550s (Med stonewash) and have been pleased with the color. We have a relaxed dress environment at work and I can wear them without looking like I'm trying to emulate the style of a 15 year old.

New style Silver Tab, but still great fit
The old Silver Tab Levi's were the only jeans my husband would wear. We had to buy used ones on eBay for a while, but now have found these new ones. The style is very close, not quite as baggy as the old style, but still make him happy.

Skateboarding teenager loves Dickies work pants
My 16 year old son will wear only Dickies traditional work pants. This is cool because they last longer than most jeans and cost a little less. He says the cell phone pocket models are a looser fit, so he won't wear them and sticks with the traditionals. The only wear problem he has is that the front pockets tend to get holey because he jams his wallet, cell phone, and keys all into his front pocket. Sometimes I have trouble finding his skinny size, 30x32, but am usually able to find them online. They come out nicely from the wash, and if you choose black like he does, you don't have to worry about any stains.

To be honest, i would be wearing these pants for mainly going out in and/or skating. Must be a style thing but I love dickies quality too! Good tough material and easy to wash.

Some colors fade
I've generally been pleased with these pants. I am notoriously hard to fit -- small waist, but bigger hips. I thought I was condemned to a life of pleated pants.

Not so!

I've been wearing several pairs, quite gently, for a year when I need to get out of jeans and go business casual. My navy and charcoal have been washed perhaps 5-7 times. And, sadly, they are fading. Noticeably so ... at the seams and edges, and sometimes in patches down the front of the pant. I only wash with Tide, and at the proper temp, and I dry per instructions. So what else to do?

I was so happy with these, but even with gentle wear, the dark colors are no longer presentable for business attire. I won't be buying them again.

Quite sad, because they fit perfect.

Great black pants!!
Do not fade quickly. Sit lower on waist so they are more figure flattering. Straight legs so you don't look like a turkey drumstick!! All around great pants (especially if you need them for a uniform).

Dockers Men's Pleated Comfort Khaki--these have all the right moves !!!
Dockers makes a great pair of pleated comfort khaki pants for gentlemen who want a relaxed, clean cut look without appearing shoddy. These pants look good in a casual office environment and they're just as good for when guys run around on the weekends with friends and family. The waistband gives us guys a little extra room, too; and that's great!

People sometimes say that slightly overweight men like me shouldn't wear pants with pleats. However, I realized that when I sit down and have a wallet in my pocket, these pants stretch the extra fabric from the pleated area to "cover up" my being overweight so that these pants still look quite good.

Moreover, these pants are durable. In fact, there's no reason why they couldn't last for years if you take good care of them. Made out of fabric that is 65% cotton and 35% polyester, they are certainly permanent press and they don't wrinkle easily. I know Dockers says that these won't wrinkle, but if you wash these in your washer and dryer take them out right away after the drying cycle is finished to avoid any wrinkling at all. The crease in each leg is strong and I think it's safe to say that Dockers is right when they advertise it to be "permanent." You may want to wash them with similar colors so that no color dye from other garments gets on these pants during the wash and dry cycles. Naturally, you can take these to the cleaners if you prefer. In addition, the stitching is very well done.

The comfort fit waistband is obviously hidden; but wear your shirt tucked in so that you don't feel the elasticized waist rubbing up against your skin while wearing these pants.

Overall, these fine pleated comfort khaki pants by Dockers easily rival those made by other manufacturers. Make sure you choose the right size and color for you if you're using the charts above on this webpage. If you want a pair of comfortable, good looking pants with pleats, this may be exactly what you're looking for--if you choose to buy these I doubt that you'll be disappointed.

Nice Slacks
Very handsome on both my men (hubby & son), very nicely finished, little or no wrinkling after washing...Dockers--'nuff said!
